Part of a painting I did a while ago while in halls, was quite happy with it in terms of style and texture. Shoes are very satifying to draw also.
Have a little project to paint some slightly surrealist canvases this summer. Think I’m going to end up changing this one quite a bit however; it’s become a bit gloomy which wasn’t really the mood I wanted for it. This is my progress so far…

Another sketch because I didn’t really like the first elephant. I’m not quite sure why I imagined it to be purple….
I went to the zoo yesterday so thought this elephant was fairly appropriate. On the original I used felt tips which made it look a bit rubbish so after messing around in photoshop, I managed to get it into some kind of print imitation which suits it a bit more.
The original sketch used for my ska/reggae album art, which is a bit clearer than the multicoloured squares version. I’m rubbish at faces, so thought this was a fairly good attempt for me, although some parts aren’t quite right.
Just to carry on with the theme and prove that I seem to have developed a strange obsession with drawing leaves and flowers and other fiddly organic type things, these are some studies that I did for a drawing module a few months ago. The subject was ‘Sins’, but I tried to escape that as much as possible! I wanted to concentrate on pattern, detail and texture.
A sketchbook page not really related to anything, but something that could turn out to be a fairly interesting idea. Basically was just doodling dried leaves but they looked too much like curly hair, so made it into a face instead
